Clause 202c of German penal code endangers German IT industry
In a substantial report to the Bundesverfassungsgericht (BVerfG, German constitutional court) the Chaos Computer Club (CCC) has studied the impacts of the so-called "Hacker Paragraph", a change to the penal code. Chaos Computer Club konkretisiert Biometrie-Debatte an Schäubles Fingerabdruck
Die Debatte um die biometrische Kompletterfassung der Bundesbürger war bisher eher abstrakt. Um ihr eine konkretere Form zu geben, hat der Chaos Computer Club (CCC) seiner Vereinszeitschrift "Die Datenschleuder" ein biometrisches Sammelalbum für die Fingerabdrücke schnüffelfreudiger Politiker beigelegt. Eröffnet wird das heitere Abdrucksammeln mit einem Fingerabdruck unseres geliebten Innenministers, Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble. [1] Der Abdruck wurde durch CCC-Aktivisten von einem Wasserglas sichergestellt, das Dr. Schäuble bei einer öffentlichen Veranstaltung benutzt hatte. more …
20. bis 22. Juni 2008 Chaostreff Dortmund BBQ Weekend
Auch in diesem Jahr wird in den Räumlichkeiten des Chaostreffs Dortmund wieder ein Chaos-West-Grillen stattfinden. In Anlehnung an das Event im letzten Jahr mit über vierzig Teilnehmern wird es das Grillen in diesem Jahr in einer "verlängerten Ausführung" geben. Parteien, Bürgerinitiativen und Berufsverbände rufen bundesweit zur Teilnahme an einer Demonstration gegen die immer weiter fortschreitende Überwachung durch Staat und Wirtschaft auf. Am Samstag, dem 15. März 2008, werden die Bürger in Köln unter dem Motto „Für ein Morgen in Freiheit!“ auf die Straße gehen. A constitutional complaint against the inclusion of biometric characteristics in passports has been lodged following a lawsuit filed by lawyer Michael Schwarz.
